Where a need for specific assistance is identified, Corpus Christi offers the services of Learning Support, School Counsellor and Pastoral Care Worker. The school runs a number of other programs throughout the year targeted to the needs of individual students.
Our Learning Support Teacher specialises in the identification and support of students with special educational needs.
At Corpus Christi we collaborate with students, families and teachers to design, implementation, and monitoring and review of adjustments as needed and deliver intervention, programs. Our Learning Support Teacher works with teachers K-6 to identify and implement curriculum curriculum strategies within the classroom.
We have three Learning Support Assistants on staff. Who work in all classes K-6.
Corpus Christi has the services of a School Counsellor (Social Worker), provided through the Catholic Schools Office, working at the school one day per week. The School Counsellor is available via referral through the Principal and Learning Support Teacher. The School Counsellor offers one on one counselling sessions. In addition we have access to Clinical Psychologists for support with academic and social assessments. Recommendations are made to assist parents and teachers to cater for the ongoing educational needs of the students.
Our Pastoral Care support students through the provision of pastoral care services and the promotion of strategies that support the emotional wellbeing of students and the broader school community. In addition to classroom and playground support, the Pastoral Care Worker facilitates the 'Seasons for Growth' Program.
Our Pastoral Care worker, is on site two days per week.
